Come on a mission trip to Jax Beach this summer, to win souls in the sand with us!!

 Our staff is selected especially for their faith, integrity, and willingness to share Jesus through the fun interaction of camp. Many of our counselors are shredders, but all of them display patience, kindness, and courage to share their faith.

 

There are three basic positions on our team:

•  Lead Instructors
• Certified Instructors
• Junior Instructors

LEAD INSTRUCTORS  -  [These positions have been selected for the 09 Surf Camp season]

are teens and young adults (age 15-20) who love Jesus and are called to the surf camp vision.  Our instructors are certified through EPIC's own surf instruction course, in which they learn the fundamentals of teaching, team building, safety, leadership and encouragement.  Instructors are also discipled in sharing their faith: a skill that keeps on paying off into eternity!!   They are the first to arrive at the beach and the last to leave.  Instructors are also responsible for follow up with a minimum of 5 campers throughout the year following camp.  Our instructors are held to a high standard spiritually, and are expected to come ready to share Jesus. As this is a mission, Lead Instructors must commit to at least five weeks of camp and must fundraise their salary for the summer, which includes a mission trip to Costa Rica from July 18th to July 25th. 

 

CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS

are teens and young adults (age 15-20) who love Jesus and are called to the surf camp vision by volunteering their time to reach kids for Christ!  Our instructors are certified through EPIC's own surf instruction course, in which they learn the fundamentals of teaching, team building, safety, leadership and encouragement.  Instructors are also discipled in sharing their faith: a skill that keeps on paying off into eternity!!  Certified Instructors commit to at least one full week of camp.  They are the first to arrive at the beach and the last to leave.  Instructors are also responsible for follow up with a minimum of 5 campers throughout the year following camp.  Our instructors are held to a high standard spiritually, and are expected to come ready to share Jesus.

 

JUNIOR INSTRUCTORS are young people ages 12-14 who aspire to become surf instructors. JrI's will be mentored and trained by our Lead Surf Instructors and Directors throughout the camp season.  While participation in the JrI program is not a requirement to become an Instructor, we believe that our JrI's will take our surf instruction to the next level in the future.  They will enter our Instructor Team at age 15 possessing years of hands-on experience!

 

Plus, there are other positions vital to our camps as well:

 INTERNS are surfers and non-surfers, age 18-22 interested in the logistics and service of organizing a surf camp and the desire to reach youth through surf ministry.   They will learn the budgeting, coordination, and leadership skills involved in reaching kids for Christ through surfing.   Intern may possibly earn college credit through their degree program.
